Mill Creek Pumping Station Replacement
The City of Jeffersonville currently has three major pumping stations throughout the City which convey flow to their Downtown WWTP. The Mill Creek Pump Station is one of the three stations. This station was originally constructed in the late 1960’s and is a dry pit-wet pit station with a pumping capacity of 8 MGD. The station is located along one of the City’s largest drainage conveyance systems, and as most stations had in the 1960’s, there was a permitted overflow into the creek. JTL managed the design, funding source approval, and construction of this project. The new station included a new submersible pump 8 MGD station, odor control, flow monitoring, and connection to an existing 24” force main that required extensive coordination throughout the collection system to manage flow. JTL assisted the client in project scoping and evaluation, survey and engineering design management, bidding, and construction administration.
